Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised in a multiethnic household. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two siblings and has a brother who is older. The family have moved to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan tensions and her birth and education were in Bahrain. After completing the schooling in Bahrain she was awarded a Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. Having a passion for the world of languages and cultures, she joined the Berlitz school of languages in which she was able to learn Spanish as well as improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she won the title in 2006. In 2006 she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Following that, she stepped into television to host an interview show on Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the child of of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. As a teenager, she participated in national badminton competitions, but quit the sport to become an artist. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean in her origins. Her ancestors come from the village of Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state, which is located in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 80s. Her mother, who worked for a travel agency also comes from this area.
